BLUE HOUSE AGENCY WITH PRSSA
WHO WE ARE
Blue House Agency is Boise State University’s chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA). We are one of over 300 chapters in the United States, Argentina, Colombia, and Peru. With more than 11,000 members, PRSSA is the foremost organization for students interested in public relations and communication. Students seek to advance the public relations profession by nurturing generations of future professionals. They advocate rigorous academic standards for public relations education, the highest ethical principles and diversity in the profession. Boise State’s PRSSA Chapter provides students with both hands-on opportunities to work in public relations and extended learning opportunities through interaction with PR professionals.
Business Model Elected officers are responsible for leading and managing the chapter following a business model. Officers (who are members of the executive board and student team leaders) report to the instructor, who serves as CEO. Students are assigned to projects and teams. Officers are responsible for their assigned team members and projects, and students are responsible to their assigned officer. Officers report to the President and Vice President, who then report to the CEO.
OUR MISSION
We strive to increase students’ critical thinking skills by allowing them to respond to practical public relations situations while performing fundamental tasks of entry-level public relations practitioners while simultaneously building a diverse public relations portfolio.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED
Joining us in making a difference in the Boise community! There are two ways to get involved. You can contact PRSSA at bluehousepr@boisestate.edu to join the organization, or you can enroll in MEDIA 113/313, Media Activities: Blue House Communications, and earn credit while participating. Motivated students from any major who are ready to build lasting relationships and gain professional experience are encouraged to join our organization.
