Thomas Blum, a geophysics doctoral student, and his advisor, Dr. Kasper van Wijk, recently published a paper in Physical Review Letters. The paper, “Laser Excitation of a Fracture Source for Elastic Waves,” includes the results of research with collaborators at Colorado School of Mines and ConocoPhillips, and was carried out in the Physical Acoustics Laboratory.
