The Master of Educational Technology is our professional degree, focusing on skills for improved performance at all levels of education, in the classroom and beyond. This program is perfect for going onto our Ed.D. program and does not require GREs for admittance.
The Master of Educational Technology degree is 100% online.
Course work focuses on theoretical foundations, hands-on technology skills, and integration strategies for today’s learning environments. All M.E.T. students will complete a portfolio as their Culminating Activity.

The M.E.T. degree courses can apply to a doctorate if you are accepted into that program at a later date. No GRE scores are required. The final M.E.T. culminating activity is a Portfolio project showcasing all work completed in previous classes.

What can I do with this degree?
Graduates from the Master in Educational Technology program are prepared to design, develop, implement, and advise educational technology programs in diverse face-to-face and online educational settings. Some work in K-12 schools where they integrate technology in their classrooms, mentor peers, or serve as technology coordinators. Others work as faculty in higher education, instructional designers, librarians, or educational administration.

Admission Requirements
Applicants are required to have earned at least a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university or a degree from a non-U.S. institution of higher education that is judged equivalent to a U.S. baccalaureate degree by the International Admissions office and have an undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 (based on a 4-point scale) computed for all undergraduate credits from the applicant’s most recent baccalaureate degree. Academic background must also be judged by the program coordinator as adequate for enrollment in graduate courses in education and educational technology.
A prospective student may apply at any time and should follow the general graduate application procedure for degree-seeking students (see Graduate Admission Regulations). Admission to the program is based on:
- Official transcripts from all colleges attended.
- An essay describing educational and professional background, career goals, and how the coursework will help you to attain them. Also, tell us why you are choosing our program and why you will be a successful graduate student.
- Completion of the Program Development Form.
Note: M.E.T. students can also earn a graduate certificate in one of the specializations: GAMES AND SIMULATIONS, ONLINE TEACHING, INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY COACHING, TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION, COMPUTER ASSISTIVE LANGUAGE LEARNING, ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY (STARTING FALL 2021), DIGITAL LITERACIES INSTRUCTION (STARTING FALL 2021), or DESIGNING ACCESSIBLE ONLINE EDUCATION (STARTING FALL 2021). In order to do so, please indicate the appropriate certificate on the Graduate Admissions application form. It is important for students to apply for a certificate before starting the course work.

Estimated Costs
The cost per credit is $478. Students need to complete 30 credits consisting of 500-level courses.
