Peer Mentor Program

The TRIO STEM Scholars Peer Mentoring Program is a cornerstone of our support system, designed to foster academic success and personal growth. Required for all first-year participants and optional for returning scholars, the program connects students with experienced peers who provide guidance, encouragement, and practical support.

Each peer mentor works with a caseload of up to five mentees, developing meaningful relationships grounded in trust and mutual respect. Mentors serve as role models and offer advice on academic strategies, time management, and campus resources.

Hi everyone! I’m Kalistiane Raass. I’m currently a Sophomore at Boise State University, majoring in Construction Management. As a first time peer mentor, I look forward to the growth in this role, along with assisting others in having an optimal college experience. Additionally I can’t wait to work with students in our program through positive interactions and building relationships. A few of my interests are going to the gym, competing in sports, listening to music of all genres, and of course going out with friends. Finding the balance between work and fun has been key to my college experience, and I’m excited to help others discover the same.
