TRIO Students Headed to Globalization Conference

On February 15-17, 2017, eight students from the TRIO Teacher Preparation Program will travel to Spokane, Washington to participate in the Globalization Conference that will be held at Washington State University. The theme of this year’s conference is: Living With(in) Borders: Immigration, Indigeneity, and Education.

Keynote presenters will address the topic of immigration by examining how borders are constructed and enforced, the underlying causes of migrant crises, and the reactions of either openness or hostility that immigrants are met with.

The Boise State TRIO students who will be attending the conference are: Georgette B., Jessie R., Melissa B., Tania B., Liliana A., Alexsandra R., Christine M., Brittany C..

We are very excited that this group of students will get the chance to participate in this amazing learning opportunity. We look forward to hearing their thoughts and opinions on the conference when they return!
