Kristin Batten, administrative assistant for the Department of Counselor Education, presented a poster at the Process Improvement Celebration awards held Feb. 20 on campus in the Simplot ballroom. Batten’s poster, “S.O.S. Save Our Salaries” was nominated for the Change Maker Award.

Batten developed a spreadsheet formula to recognize errors in adjunct faculty pay, which can be used across departments before payments are made in error. Batten’s process reduces over and under payments made to adjuncts, and cuts down on time correcting payroll errors.

The Process Improvement Celebration, presented by the Office of Continuous Improvement, is a free event for all staff, faculty, and students. At the event, campus employees who have been nominated for awards share process improvement projects and are recognized for outstanding contributions to process improvement across campus.
