Fourth Friday Research Talks Begin September 23

Fourth Friday Research Talk

The 2016-2017 Fourth Friday Research Talk series in the College of Education will begin on September 23rd from 2:30-4:00pm in the Wallace room (Education Building, room 724).

There will be two presenters at the September 23rd talk:

  • Wanchen Chang, Assistant Professor, Department of Curriculum, Instruction and Foundational Studies
The performance of multilevel models when outcome data are incomplete
  • Applied researchers often encounter problems with missing data. We conducted a Monte Carlo simulation study to examine the effects of missing outcome data on univariate and multivariate analysis of group mean differences in the context of a two-group multilevel design with two correlated outcomes.

  • Keith Thiede, Associate Dean, College of Education
How effectively do 7th graders regulate study?
  • Self-regulated learning requires accurate monitoring of learning and effective regulation of learning. Little is known about how effectively younger readers regulate their study. We examined how 7th grade students selected texts for restudy, and how these decisions affected overall comprehension.
