2017 Teacher Education Career Fair

Teacher candidates receive information from two-minute presentations from districts during the ‘share out’ session.

Boise State Teacher Education, the Career Center, and the Teacher Education Ambassadors student organization hosted the 2017 Boise State Teacher Education Career Fair yesterday in the Student Union Building, with 32 school districts from Idaho, Oregon, Nevada, Washington and California in attendance.

Boise State teacher candidates who are scheduled to graduate this May met with districts to fill teaching positions for elementary and secondary education, as well as areas considered ‘high-need’ in special education and STEM education. Teacher candidates from other universities were also encouraged to attend, and

The event featured a ‘share out’ portion for the first half which each district/organization had two minutes to present to the group of teacher candidates. The second part of the fair included the ‘walkabout’ session with candidates networking with potential employers. Interviews were conducted on-site throughout the afternoon, and some candidates received offers of employment afterwards.

The next Boise State Teacher Education Career Fair is scheduled for April 2018. For more information, please contact Anne Evans, anneevans@boisestate.edu, or Martha Mendoza, marthamendoza@boisestate.edu.
