EdTech department ranked in top 10 for educational and instructional media design

The Department of Educational Technology in the College of Education was ranked in the national top 10 for best online master’s programs for educational and instructional media design. In the U.S. News and World Report’s latest national rankings – which evaluates more than 300 rank-eligible online programs – Boise State’s Educational Technology was ranked #9 for “Best Online Master’s in Instructional Media Programs” category.

“The online programs in Educational Technology allow us to serve students across Idaho and beyond,” said Jennifer Snow, Interim Dean. “Our ranking in the top 10 reflects the national recognition that our programs prepare education leaders and researchers to take their place as innovators and transformative thinkers in their communities.”

The “Best Online Master’s in Instructional Media Programs” category is not tied to a specific program, and instead creates rankings according to the broad areas related to teaching professionals how to better integrate technology in their lesson plans, and helping teachers stay on top of current and future technologies to enhance students’ learning experience.

Alumni use what they learn in Educational Technology programs to make positive impacts in their schools and districts, like Jamie Vick who helps train her district’s teachers to teach online.
