Jamie Vick was already using what she was learning in the Education Specialist in Educational Technology program to support the Mountain Home School District as their Technology Integration Specialist. Once schools transitioned to online learning in March, Vick’s expertise was especially in-demand as teachers began to deliver lessons remotely.

“I was able to take the work I had been doing and the coursework I had taken through the Ed Tech department and put those into quick action for creating professional development in online learning for our staff,” said Vick. “I have been able to support the teachers and prepare them for online learning so they can support the students in our district.”

Since schools have been closed, Vick has conducted regular online meetings with teachers in the district, where she advises and demonstrates for teachers how to successfully conduct classes and lessons over platforms like Google Meet. While working, Vick earned a graduate certificate in online learning this spring, and will graduate with her EdS in Educational Technology degree this fall.
