Jennifer Snow, professor in curriculum, instruction and foundational studies and Phil Kelly, professor emeritus, were interviewed on Idaho Matters, Boise State Public Radio’s noon hour live broadcast on February 9, discussing controversial issues facing public education today.

Snow and Kelly, both experts in public education and teacher preparation, emphasized that many of the controversies facing public education today actually discourage critical thinking and civil discourse and that the aim of pubic educators is to teach students how to think critically, allowing for reasoned disagreement with a lesson or subject.
