The Platform

Hopin is an all-in-one and live, online event platform where attendees can learn, interact, and connect with people from anywhere in the world. It mirrors the in-person event experience almost exactly, more sustainably, and with increased accessibility and safety in uncertain times.

Similar to a physical event, the online event experience is self-directed but with wayfinding tools and signs to help people easily get around. Attendees ultimately choose where they want to go. The Hopin interface will not be available for exploration until the day before the conference, but on the landing page the event schedule shows attendees what’s happening, where they should be, when, and who’s speaking.

Attendees will have the opportunity to watch speakers on the main stage, join research sessions including live group discussions, visit sponsor expo booths, and talk to presenters in a poster session. You will also be able to meet other attendees 1-on-1 through a networking interface. For a brief overview (few minutes) of how to navigate Hopin to get the most from the experience, watch the video here (https://streamable.com/cml1xr).

For the Best Conference Experience in Hopin

There are no backgrounds or blurs in Hopin, so make sure your space is “studio ready”.

We recommend attending the event using a laptop or PC. If presenting slides, it is ideal to have an additional screen but not necessary. There is a Hopin app, but it does not always work flawlessly.

For the best user experience, use headphones when participating on screen to eliminate echo and feedback.

Use the Google Chrome browser.

Check your internet connection, if you’re having issues connect via ethernet to your internet router.

Disconnect from VPN.

If you have tech problems:

    • Relaunch your browser
    • Quit and relaunch your browser
    • Clear your cache or join from an incognito or private browser window
    • If all else fails, restart your computer

Connectivity – Internet Speed
For a great online experience in Hopin, the recommendation is a minimum of 5mbps download and 2mbps upload speed. Ideally would be 30mbps download and 10mbps upload or higher for guaranteeing best quality.
