Seismology
Seismology is a science that primarily deals with the structure of the Earth, as opposed to the common belief that it focuses only on earthquakes. Seismic waves propagated throughout the Earth do not travel in straight lines, but are instead reflected or refracted by the different layers within the Earth. The paths that seismic rays travel have helped seismologists to determine Earth’s interior structure.
