SEMIFINALS SET FOR 2020 MOUNTAIN WEST ESPORTS SERIES

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The semifinal matchups are set for the Mountain West Esports Series in College “League of Legends” and “Overwatch®.”

After a month of play in College “League of Legends,” Boise State earned the top spot in the Mountain Division after finishing with a perfect 5-0 record. Colorado State secured the No. 2 seed after a 4-1 regular-season. In the West Division, Nevada is the No. 1 seed, joining Boise State with a perfect record, while  UNLV is the No. 2 seed, entering the semifinals with a 4-1 record.

For “Overwatch®”, Boise State and Colorado State earned the top two spots in the six-team Mountain Division. The Broncos posted an undefeated 5-0 mark, while the Rams enter the postseason at 4-1. In a competitive West Division, UNLV is the No. 1 seed, earning the head-to-head tiebreaker over Nevada, which is the No. 2 seed.

Semifinal matchups for “Overwatch®” will take place on Friday, February 28, with the Mountain Division playing at 7 p.m. MT/6 p.m. PT and the West Division competing at 9 p.m. MT/8 p.m. PT.

“League of Legends” semifinal matches are set for Saturday, February 29, with the Mountain Division playing at 3 p.m. MT/2 p.m. PT and the West Division playing at 4 p.m. MT/3 p.m. PT. Times for all semifinal matchups are subject to change.

The winners of the semifinals will head to Las Vegas for the Mountain West Esports Series Championship powered by MTN DEW AMP GAME FUEL taking place March 6-7 at the Strip View Pavilion in the Thomas & Mack Center. The “League of Legends” Championship is slated to start at 2 p.m. MT/1 p.m. PT on March 6. The “Overwatch®” Championship will take place at 10 a.m. MT/9 a.m. PT on March 7, leading into the Mountain West Men’s Basketball Championship Game. Admission to the esports championship matches is free with a ticket to that day’s MW Basketball Championships.
