Morrison Center Recital Hall
Formed in 2003, the Chicago-based Lincoln Trio takes its name from their home, the heartland of the United States, the land of Lincoln. FANFARE Magazine hailed the Lincoln Trio—Desirée Ruhstrat, violin, David Cunliffe, cello, and Marta Aznavoorian, piano—as “one of the hottest young trios in the business.” The Lincoln Trio has appeared at Carnegie’s Weil Hall, Ravinia Festival, Poisson Rouge, and many other major venues, as well as in Springfield, Illinois when chosen to celebrate the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial celebration with President Barack Obama. Internationally, the trio has performed in Germany, Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Colombia. They bring us a wide-ranging program of piano trio music from Haydn, Brahms, Turina, and Piazzolla, plus Chicago composer Stacy Garrop’s deeply moving “Repair the World,” a 2023 commissioned response to the 2022 Highland Park mass shooting.
Tickets: For single tickets ($30) to this concert, please contact Jeanne Belfy, firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible.
