Advanced Interconnects: The Expressway for Bits

March 13 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am

Join us at 10:30 AM in MEC 114 for a presentation from Nancy Lomeli, who currently works at Micron.

After years of being slowed and throttled by the constraints of street traffic, bits now have an expressway to achieve higher speeds and reduce traveled distances! With advanced interconnect technology we have opened up a disruptive scaling path for cutting-edge AI, gaming, neuromorphic computing memory, automotive, and more. These novel solutions are possible through fundamental development in materials, devices, designs, and countless innovative ideas.

Speaker Bio

Nancy M. Lomeli grew up in the Bay Area and obtained her B.S. in Computer Science and M.S. in Electronics Engineering from the University of Guadalajara, Mexico. Her strong belief in the value of education led her to begin her career as a University Professor in her alma mater and a Process Instructor at Micron Technology.

Over her 19-year career, she has worked on multiple pathfinding and technology development projects ranging from solar panels, Phase Change memory, NAND memory, Multifunctional (MFP) printers, Hybrid Memory Cube (HMC) and High Bandwidth Memory (HBM). She is currently the Director of Advanced Packaging Technology Development (APTD) at Micron Technology.

Nancy holds 39 US patents and has 68 patents pending.
