What Makes A Nation? A Conference for Idaho Social Studies Teachers

August 1 - August 2

The Symposium on Civic and History Education (SCHE) is dedicated to supporting Social Studies teachers in Idaho, recognizing their challenges in the current polarized educational landscape. Focused on fostering an active and informed citizenry, SCHE collaborates with university and community partners to organize a Social Studies Conference, providing professional development, networking, and resources for secondary education teachers. The upcoming conference, themed “What Makes a Nation?,” scheduled for August 1-2, 2024, at Boise University, features cutting-edge sessions, keynote speaker Dr. Shelley Rigger, a comparative political scientist with expertise in China and Taiwan issues, and opportunities for Professional Development credit. The initiative aims to enhance civic and history education essential for a democratic republic.
