Federal Direct Loans – Loans are borrowed funds to help pay for education expenses that must be repaid in the future. For more information please visit Federal Loans.
- Subsidized Loans are based on financial need and have interest and payments deferred while enrolled in at least 6 creditis for undergraduate students.
- Unsubsidized loans accrue interest while you are enrolled in school. Payments on the principal amount are deferred while enrolled in at least 6 credits for undergraduate students.
Federal Work-Study – Work-study has many benefits, including allowing you to work on campus and receive bi-monthly paychecks in hired into a position. Eligibility is based on financial need. For more information please visit Work-Study.
- Your job is convenient – it’s easier to work on campus between classes.
- FICA tax is not deducted from your earnings, so you’ll have more take home pay than a comparable off-campus wage.
- Work-study earnings are deducted from your income on future FAFSAs, so you could be eligible for more aid.
- Every dollar you earn is a dollar you won’t have to pay back later.

Idaho Resident Merit Scholarships
- True Blue Promise, Dean’s, and Presidential require 12 credits per semester (Fall/Spring) and a 3.0 cumulative GPA to be eligible for renewal.
- True Blue Promise recipients need to maintain a 2.5 GPA and remain Pell Grant eligible for renewal of the award.
Out of State Residents
Non-Resident Merit Scholarships
- Ridgeline, Summit, and WUE require 12 credits per semester (Fall/Spring) and a 3.0 cumulative GPA to be eligible for renewal
- Ridgeline recipients need to maintain a 2.5 GPA for renewal of the award.
