Plan Ahead
Start early to estimate how much it will take to fund your education. You can file the FAFSA at any time, but you need to be admitted to Boise State before we can process your application. Please be aware of important dates and deadlines.
Apply for Aid
Priority dates and deadlines are important to watch so you know when to apply and what to expect. Discover if you are eligible to receive federal aid.
Complete Your Holds and To Do's
After you apply for aid, you can avoid delays by managing your aid through your myBoiseState account. Watch your BroncoMail weekly for updates on To Do or Hold items. Common holds include:
Accept Your Aid
Once your application has been processed and cleared of Holds and To Do’s, you will receive an aid award(s) notification via BroncoMail. Accept or decline the aid that is best for you.
Receive and Maintain Your Aid
Disbursement is the release of aid to your student account. The earliest date funds are disbursed is 10 days prior to the start of the semester. You may still have a balance after your aid is applied. Work with our Student Financials office to set up satisfactory payments.
