How To Apply For Aid

Let us help you through the financial aid process. When you break it down into manageable steps and know what to expect, everything falls together so you can get the funding you need.

Plan Ahead

Start early to estimate how much it will take to fund your education. You can file the FAFSA at any time, but you need to be admitted to Boise State before we can process your aid application.

Priority dates and deadlines are important to watch so you know when to apply and what to expect. Discover if you are eligible to receive federal aid.

Important changes to the 2024-25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

The 2024-25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now open for students to apply and has been updated by the U.S. Department of Education, per the FAFSA Simplification Act. Boise State will not receive 2024-25 FAFSA data from Federal Student Aid until mid-March 2024. At this time, Boise State is not expecting to change the February 15 priority deadline and is estimating that we will have award notifications sent to students by late March.  Students are encouraged to complete the admissions application and submit transcripts by the posted deadlines. We will remain flexible when considering eligibility for scholarships that require FAFSA data to determine financial need. Please continue to check back for updates and watch my.BoiseState, your Student Center, and BroncoMail for further notifications.

Please refer to StudentAid.gov for more information regarding the changes.
