Action Project

An “action project” could be anything from a research design to a community engagement effort. This opportunity helps focus and shape your idea, conduct essential research, and design a viable plan.

To find your passion, you may want to engage in volunteer opportunities and local service projects. If so, we’ll connect you to opportunities.

What does an "action project" look like?

Watch these excerpts from presentations delivered by four undergraduate students at the Boise State Ethos Project symposium.

Each student started with an issue that he/she/they feels passionate about. They conducted research, navigated counterarguments, and networked with community members.

In the “Action Project” opportunity, we teach you a process for project development that begins with your personal interests and concludes with a detailed project proposal. Don’t worry– you don’t have to complete the entire project during your gap year!
