History

In the summer of 2020, the Bronco Gap year program launched as a response to the pandemic. We heard a record number of students express interest in taking a “gap year” instead of starting or returning to college during the pandemic. To meet this need, we invented a brand new program – a university-based gap year –  in collaboration with the College of Innovation and Design, College of Education, and the School of Public Service. To provide wrap-around support, we partnered with Career Services, the Academic Advising and Support Center (AASC), and New Student Transitions.

The Bronco Gap Year program is evolving to meet the current needs of students since launching in 2020. Now, we are shifting focus to helping students find their purpose, navigate institutions of higher education, build community, and get back on track.
