Our Programs

Through events and workshops, we encourage participants to develop a deeper understanding of identity with the ultimate goal of forming strategies to promote and create a safe and just society. Our programs explore:

  • LGBTQIA+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual and related) identities
  • Intersectional feminism
  • Body image
  • Masculinity
  • Healthy relationships
  • Bystander intervention
  • Other social issues related to privilege, oppression and equity

Interactive Workshops

All workshops have 75 or 90 minute versions, unless otherwise noted.

Broncos Take Action: Preventing Stalking, Sexual Assault, and Relationship Violence

60 minutes

Being a part of the Boise State community means looking out for one another. In this interactive workshop, we explore signs that we might notice when something isn’t right, barriers to taking action, and practice strategies for safely intervening to prevent stalking, sexual assault and relationship violence. Scenarios and activities can be tailored to your group.

Recognizing and Responding to Campus Stalking

60 minutes

In this interactive workshop, participants will explore what stalking looks like, how it impacts survivors and what role we can each play in responding to stalking.

Introduction to LGBTQIA+ Identities

60 minutes

Define different terms relating to the LGBTQIA+ community, learn about experiences of people who are LGBTQIA+ and discuss actions you can take to support the LGBTQIA+ community.

Supporting the LGBTQIA+ Community

Introduction to LGBTQIA+ Identities is a prerequisite.

90 Minutes Only

Use your knowledge from Introduction to LGBTQIA+ Identities to discuss ways to support the LGBTQIA+ community and how to foster an inclusive environment.

Ironman – Modern Masculinity Panel

This is a virtual panel about masculinity, gender, race, age and parenting. A pre-recorded link, list of discussion questions and evaluation can be found on the Ironman – Modern Masculinity web page. Discussion can be facilitated virtually with our staff instead.

Trans Identities

Introduction to LGBTQIA+ Identities is a prerequisite.

Hear personal stories and become more familiar with trans identities. Gain a stronger understanding of common terminology related to identity and build an action plan for how to be more inclusive of people who are trans.

Gender Equity Center Overview

Offered from 15-30 minutes

Learn about no-cost support services, community building opportunities and how our center promotes a critical thinking about social issues related to LGBTQIA+ identities and healthy relationships.
