Successful Spring for Bronco Student-Athletes

Boise State student-athletes closed out the 2021-22 academic year by recording a 3.32 grade-point average during the spring semester, the third-highest semester GPA on record.

The Broncos’ all-department cumulative GPA of 3.38 at the conclusion of the spring 2022 semester is tied for the highest on record in department history.

“I continue to be amazed by the efforts of our Bronco student-athletes in the classroom,” Dickey said. “The young men and women representing Bronco Athletics and Boise State University are taking advantage of the opportunities provided to them, and I couldn’t be more proud of what they are accomplishing both athletically and academically. I am also appreciative of the efforts of our coaching staffs, academic staff and campus community for the impact they are having on the student-athlete experience.”

Bronco student-athletes have combined to record a department GPA of at least 3.0 in 21-consecutive semesters, and above a 3.3 since spring of 2017. Gymnastics led the semester with a 3.83 GPA, while the volleyball (3.65) and women’s basketball (3.76) programs established team records.

In all, 81 percent of Bronco student-athletes achieved at least a 3.0 GPA, either semester or cumulative, during the spring term. The Broncos’ 65 4.0 GPAs are one shy of the department record, achieved this past fall.

Additionally, women’s tennis (3.82) and women’s basketball (3.70) established records in cumulative GPA following the spring term.

The Broncos’ cumulative department GPA has been at or above 3.0 for 30-consecutive semesters, and at or above 3.30 for 11-straight semesters.
