Suz and Kenny Bolton like living in the heart of a thriving college community like Boise. The couple are a familiar presence at campus gatherings and sporting events.
On one of their frequent campus visits, they thought of ways the greenhouses and surrounding area near the Morrison Center might be beautified. This led to the creation of Suz’s Garden. The project will include a greenhouse upgrade, new pathways, paver garden boxes, planters and an area for gatherings or outdoor classroom space. The Boltons have donated to support the project.
“We are grateful for the Boltons’ passion and love for Boise State,” said Matthew Ewing, vice president for University Advancement. “Their vision will preserve the natural beauty of our campus and create a space for faculty, students and alumni to gather, collaborate, think and create.”
Currently, biology faculty and students conduct research in the greenhouses.
“If we can help create a place where students can meet and utilize this space, we are happy to do so,” Suz Bolton said.
The Boltons’ philanthropy extends beyond the greenhouse project. The couple are fans and longtime donors to Boise State Athletics and the Honors College. Kenny Bolton serves on the Boise State Foundation Board of Directors, the Honors College Advisory Council. Both are members of the Lyle Smith Society, a leadership giving society supporting student-athletes.
