What To Expect When You Apply

Before You Apply

  1. Decide which program you will be submitting an application to: view Boise State graduate degree programs.
  2. Contact your program! Figure out when the necessary deadlines are and ensure that you’ll have enough time to submit all the required material before those deadlines.

What You’ll Need When You Apply

All official transcripts need to be sent to Boise State University Graduate College.

Depending on the program, you may need:

    • Resume/CV
    • Letter of Intent/Cover Letter
    • GRE or other test scores

Ordering Transcripts

Don’t wait until the last minute. During our busiest time of year, transcripts can take up to 5 business days to enter the system.  Learn how to submit official transcripts.

Once Your Application is Submitted

Check your Slate checklist to make sure that your transcripts have been received, but please be aware this process could take up to 5 business days.

Once the Graduate College has received all of your transcripts, a formal cumulative GPA calculation will be completed and your application will be made available for the program to view.

Check your email regularly. You’ll receive an email when your application has been forwarded to the program for review.

Recommendations

Letters of recommendation are requested directly through the application system. View instructions for adding recommendation providers to your application.

Application Decisions

Application decision timelines vary from program to program. Once your program makes an admission recommendation, you can expect a final decision from the Graduate College within 5-10 business days.
