What To Expect When You Apply
Searching for information about the graduate admission application process? Use the resources below to walk you through the application process and what to expect.
Before You Apply
- Decide which program you will be submitting an application to: view Boise State graduate degree programs.
- Contact your program! Figure out when the necessary deadlines are and ensure that you’ll have enough to submit all the required material before those deadlines.
Depending on the program, you may need:
- Letter of Intent/Cover Letter
- GRE or other test scores
Additional Transcript Information:
Once you submit your application, familiarize yourself with the application processing time and how to check the status of your transcripts.
Don’t wait until the last minute. During our busiest time of year, transcripts can take up to 5 business days to enter the system. Learn how to submit official transcripts.
Check your email regularly. You’ll receive an email when your application has been forwarded to the program for further review.
Once the Graduate College has received all of your transcripts, a formal cumulative GPA calculation will be completed and your application will be made available for the program to view. This process is typically completed within 5-10 business days.
Application decision timelines vary from program to program. Once your program makes an admission recommendation, you can expect a final decision from the Graduate College within 5-10 business days.
