Center for Physical Activity and Sport Reenergizing with New Website

Nicole Bolter and Laura Petranek, faculty in the School of Allied Health Sciences Department of Kinesiology and co-directors of the Center for Physical Activity and Sport, have launched a new website for the center.

The center has three aims:

  1. Conduct and disseminate research that systematically investigates sport and physical activity settings to better understand the experiences and outcomes associated with its participants.
  2. Provide community outreach by offering research-driven educational programs, interventions and seminars that include practical strategies for implementing opportunities for sport and physical activities.
  3. Offer fee-based services to those interested in increasing sport and physical activity participation and improving associated outcomes.

The center’s aims – research, outreach and services – provide opportunities to gather scientific data, share best practices with the community and improve the sport and physical activity experiences of all participants.

The center was founded in 2000 by emeritus faculty Linda Petlichkoff with the goal of promoting the physical, psychological and social benefits of physical activity and sport across the lifespan. Anyone – faculty, researchers, community members, students and businesses – who would like to engage with the center can contact the center at cpas@boisestate.edu.
