Tom Turco, a lecturer in the Department of Community and Environmental Health, was quoted in an Idaho Statesman story about the complexities of annexing an area southwest of Boise City. Turco, who is a former environmental health supervisor and director for Idaho’s Central District Health Department, commented on the problems related to septic systems in an area with lots of calcium carbonates in the soil.
