Critical Topics for Informatics Field Explored at National Symposium

Linda Osgood and Jaime Sand, faculty in the Department of Community and Environmental Health, attended American Health Information Management Association’s Assembly on Education (AOE) Symposium in July in San Antonio, Texas. This three-day session included such hot topics as ICD-10-CM/PCS, updates to Health Informatics and Information Management curriculum standards, the ONC HITECH programs, the need for more graduate programs, meaningful use, electronic health records, and virtual experiences for the classroom.
