Lonny Ashworth Presents Workshops to Japanese Medical Professionals

This summer Lonny Ashworth, professor in the Department of Respiratory Care, spent a month in Japan teaching workshops across the island nation. He provided one to four day workshops on mechanical ventilation of adult patients in Tokyo, Yokohama, Urayasu, Kamakura, Kamogawa, Kobe City, Takamatsu, and Hiroshima.

Ashworth started traveling to Japan in 1995 as a part of the International Exchange Visit Programme for Respiratory Care Professionals. He now travels to Japan twice a year to present workshops. Last year, Ashworth was named a fellow in the American Association of Respiratory Care for his work in respiratory care education and assistance with the development of the field in Japan.
