  • Extend verbal offer – “contingent upon background check and reference checks” (see below).
  • Upon the candidate’s acceptance of a verbal offer, a background check and degree verification will begin (see below).
  • A written offer will be written, approved and extended electronically to the candidate (see below).

Classified Employees

CSRs are not required for Classified searches. Please provide a list to your Talent Acquisition Specialist of all candidates interviewed and the outcomes of each interview.

Background Checks

  • All temporary employees, permanent employees, and graduate assistants will need a background check on file before they begin work — this includes adjunct faculty, PageUp hires, or anyone hired via Bronco Hub.
    • If you are hiring for a permanent, limited service, or benefit-eligible temporary position through PageUp, a background check will be initiated by your Talent Acquisition Specialist.
    • For all other hires, you will need to request a background check.  To initiate a background check, use the background check request form that is located here.
  • If your department will be bringing on student employees, volunteers, or affiliates, they will need a background check if their position fits any of the criteria listed in 5.1 Appendix A of the Background Verifications (Policy 7005) policy.
    • Human Resources will be notified to complete a background check for student hires based on your responses to the student hire form in Bronco Hub.
    • Human Resources will be notified to complete a background check for affiliates based on your responses to the Affiliate Visitor eForm.
    • Background checks for volunteers need to be requested using the Background Check request form.
