Student Funding Opportunities

Graduate Assistantships in Kinesiology

A graduate assistantship provides a stipend, tuition/fee waiver and health insurance. Assistantships are awarded for one academic year and may be renewed for up to one additional year, pending student performance, progress toward a degree, and department needs. The awarding of GAs is based on factors such as academics, strength of the letters of reference, and experience in the selected area of study (e.g., coursework, work experience, internships). All awards are contingent upon state funding. Finally, faculty members also look for GAs that might fit well with particular areas of research and/or teaching needs. As such, your chances of being awarded a GA depend a great deal on the pool of applicants as well as faculty needs for any given year. Students from underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.
