Printmaking and the Open Press Project
In February 2021, Professor Jill AnnieMargaret and her lab technician Gabrielle Krake learned of the Open Press Project – a company with the goal to make printmaking accessible. They reached out to the MakerLab with an interest in making several of these 3D printable miniature printing presses for students to use in their printmaking courses. Due to the pandemic adjustments, this allowed students to take home their own printing press. In the video below, Professor AnnieMargaret demonstrates using one such press to print a recycled plastic plate.
