Visiting the Exhibition
Albertsons Library welcomes visitors to the Americans and the Holocaust exhibition from March 22 through 5:00 p.m. April 26, 2023.
The exhibit is free and open to the public on the first floor of the library during regular library hours.
Volunteer docents will be available during select hours beginning Monday, March 27, 2023.
School groups will be visiting the exhibit on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Boise’s Congregation Ahavath Beth Israel at 128
A companion display to Americans and the Holocaust inviting visitors to learn about the histories of the Beth Israel Synagogue and the Ahavath Israel Synagogue. This exhibit of historic photographs and records from the Boise City Archives spans 128 years, documenting Boise’s Jewish history, the formation of two congregations, the construction of Temple Beth Israel followed by that of Ahavath Israel, the merging of two religious movements, and the relocation of the oldest synagogue in continuous use west of the Mississippi River from 11th and State Street to its current location on the Boise Bench on Latah Street.
Unless otherwise stated, materials in the cases can be researched at the Boise City Archives.

Incarceration and Neutrality: Idahoans Respond to World War II
Inspired by Americans and the Holocaust themes, this exhibit uses documents from Boise State’s Special Collections and Archives to show two responses of Idahoans to World War II.

Americans and the Holocaust display at the Luminary
In support of the Library’s exhibition, Boise State’s Stein Luminary will host supplementary interactive digital content from the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum’s collections. During select days and times, visitors may explore videos and photographs related to Americans and the Holocaust in the Luminary’s all-digital museum space using touch-activated screens and immersive projection. Visit the Luminary’s website and learn more about the gallery’s unique capabilities.
