This talk discusses the links between language documentation, language revitalization, and Indigenous students within the linguistics discipline. The talk highlights how field linguistic training (and linguistic training in general) can be more inclusive for Indigenous students by being informed of these links and by incorporating Indigenous research methodologies into linguistic education and research.

The lecture is sponsored by the Idaho Humanities Council, the Boise State
Department of English, the Mary Ellen Ryder Linguistics Lab, and the
Boise State Gender Studies Program. A question and answer period with the students from this semester’s LING 497 will follow the lecture.
