Dr. Casper, at Boise State since 2006, holds a Ph.D. from North Dakota State University and specializes in media rhetoric, popular culture, and visual communication. She has served in various administrative roles, including Public Relations Programs Director, and as a Past President of PRSA Idaho. An artist focusing on tile mosaics, she enjoys a vibrant life with family, pets, gardens, and ongoing home projects. Her work spans career preparation, media effects, and strategic communication.

Bryce Cornwell has been involved with the University Television program for over a decade, supporting production classes and helping develop key studio spaces, including 360 Studio, SpeC Studio, and SMASH Studio. He contributed to the Media Department’s Production Classroom and Lab, launched in Fall 2020. Bryce also works with ESPN’s College Football Remote Operations, bringing industry insights and advanced broadcasting techniques to University Television, enhancing student preparation for careers in media and television production.

Lee Emmert transitioned to academia after two decades as a photojournalist and documentary filmmaker, with work featured in TIME, The Atlantic, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Barron’s, and Fast Company. Focused on environmental and equity issues, he has produced video series with the US Forest Service, Department of Public Affairs, and nonprofits. Emmert holds an MA in Multimedia Journalism from the University of Oregon and BA degrees in Philosophy and Studio Art.

Jinho earned his doctorate degree from Washington State University in communication. His research focuses on how consumers process advocacy messages on prosocial issues in strategic communication. He also conducts research on corporate social responsibility, advertising, and public relations.

Hyunmee Kang is an Associate Professor in the Media Department at the College of Arts and Sciences. She specializes in media and public relations, with research on media effects and PR practices across different cultural and political contexts. She earned a Ph.D. in Mass Communication and Public Affairs from Louisiana State University and holds master’s degrees from Sogang University in South Korea and Southern Illinois University. Kang has taught a wide range of courses, reflecting her academic focus since undergraduate studies.

Scott is the opinion editor for the Idaho Statesman and an adjunct journalism instructor at Boise State University. With 30+ years of experience, he has worked in Idaho, Oregon, New York, San Francisco, Ohio, and New Mexico. He holds bachelor’s degrees in journalism and English from Syracuse University. Living in Boise since 2006, he and his wife, Nicola, have two sons—one a Boise State student and the other a Navy officer.

Christine Moore earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Communication from Boise State University. After earning her bachelor’s degree, she worked in public relations, marketing and advertising. She started as a copywriter, advanced to account executive, and finally assistant director before returning to BSU for her master’s degree. She has taught at BSU since 2007 and currently focuses on public relations courses.
Specifically, she teaches Introduction to Public Relations, Advanced Public Relations Writing, and PR Campaigns.

Dr. Todd Norton, Head of the Department of Communication and Media at Boise State University, specializes in crisis, risk, and environmental communication, as well as organizational consulting and public outreach. His research explores public information campaigns, stakeholder engagement, and risk perception, focusing on environmental issues and science communication. Todd’s work includes public information projects on water contaminants and native fish restoration. Outside work, he enjoys family time, hiking, football, and serving as a certified wildland firefighter and EMT.

Nathaniel S. Snyder, known as Nathan, is a Lecturer in the Department of Media at Boise State University and Director of University Television. He teaches media production courses, including motion graphics, AI for media, and advanced audio. A composer and former real estate and usability professional, he also restores historic buildings and maintains a gold mine in Idaho’s Boise Basin. Passionate about hands-on learning, he mentors students in television, audio, and film production.

Dr. Jeff Spurlock holds a Ph.D. in Mass Communication from The University of Southern Mississippi. He is an award-winning broadcast journalist, including being named twice by the Associated Press as Kentucky’s Best Radio Reporter. At Boise State, he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Media Writing, Media Production, Sports Marketing, Social Media Strategies, and Communication Content Creation. Jeff loves to play golf and is a huge fan of BSU football and basketball.

Carissa Wolf, an author, journalist, and educator, lectures at Boise State University in sociology and media. She teaches courses on communication, media, and society, emphasizing sociological thought and advanced journalism techniques. A contributor to The Washington Post, her award-winning journalism spans politics, civil rights, and environmental issues. Wolf co-created the Idaho Media Initiative and authored Numbered, a book on women prisoners. Her interests include long-form journalism, public sociology, and subcultures.
