Trumpet Studio

At Boise State, our trumpet studio fosters a supportive environment where students work closely with faculty to unlock their potential and challenge themselves artistically. Under the guidance of Dr. Zach Buie, students receive world-class training in solo, chamber, jazz, and orchestral repertoire. Our curriculum blends technical mastery with musical insight, providing a comprehensive education that prepares students to excel as performers, educators, and leaders. Whether you’re an undergraduate or graduate student, you’ll have the opportunity to grow as a well-rounded musician within an inspiring community.

In addition to private instruction, the Boise State Trumpet Studio offers a wide variety of performance outlets to refine each student’s musical aspirations. The Trumpet Ensemble performs at local, national, and international events. Recent performances include the Idaho Human Rights Day Ceremony at the State Capitol and the International Trumpet Guild Conference. Various chamber ensembles such as brass quintets, brass ensembles, and more provide opportunities to perform in diverse settings on and off campus. Studio members also participate in the large ensembles on campus, such as the Symphonic Winds, All-Campus Concert Band, Symphony Orchestra, Jazz Orchestra, and the Blue Thunder Marching Band.
