Boise State University is now a doctoral university with “high research activity” according to the nation’s premier college classification system, Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education.
“It is a testament to the world-class research and creativity of our faculty, high-quality lab and field work of our students, and commitment to continuous improvement that unites the faculty, staff and administration of Boise State,” said Interim President Martin Schimpf, who served as the provost and vice president of academic affairs through much of recent years of doctoral and research growth.
Our trajectory is unrivaled, our outlook is unlimited.
Idaho’s largest public university was bumped into the overall doctoral research class in 2016 after more than a decade of pursuing a goal of becoming a metropolitan research university of distinction.
