New and existing supervisors looking to build their managerial skills now can register for Employment Essentials, a 12-week certificate program offered by HRS for employees who supervise others.
The program will help participants expand their knowledge and abilities related to core human resources and employment competencies, including hiring best practices, employee leave (Americans with Disabilities Act and Family and Medical Leave Act), compensation and classification administration, supervising student employees, onboarding success, performance management, employment law basics and more.
Employment Essentials provides supervisors with the training, resources and essential information they need to excel in their positions and to adhere to employment compliance standards and best practices. Participants will have opportunities to learn collaboratively with peers from across campus.
Employees will receive a certificate upon completion of the series to document their achievement. Participants can complete certificate requirements by attending in-person courses, online coursework or combination of both types of instruction. All in-person sessions are two hours in length and are scheduled from 9-11 a.m.
