Lisa McClain, a professor of history and gender studies in the Department of History, recently led a workshop at the National Association of Educational Office Professionals annual conference.
The workshop covered ways schools and educators can best support transgender and gender-nonconforming students. It included gender identity issues; best practices for gender accommodations within schools; legal issues surrounding bullying, discrimination, and other issues; and how to model gender-inclusive behaviors within schools.
