A myriad of sustainability efforts across campus have now been consolidated to one location, the Office of Sustainability. This office is housed within Campus Operations and is managed by Amy Parrish, sustainability director. The renaming and reorganization of this office highlights the importance of sustainability efforts on campus and the need for intentional development, implementation and tracking of various initiatives across the university.
Sustainability efforts were previously the purview of the Environmental Health, Safety and Sustainability group. Laboratory and chemical safety programs are now under the direction of Annie Hightower, associate vice president of Finance of Operations. The environmental health and compliance responsibilities are now managed under Facilities Operations and Maintenance.
