Upcoming cohort opportunities for free web accessibility micro-certification course

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) is pleased to offer structured cohort opportunities to complete the university’s free Web Tools and Remediation professional development course. Those who complete the course can earn a digital badge offered through Idaho SkillStack.

Boise State staff and faculty are invited to register for eight-week cohort sessions offered September 2020 through March 2021. Cohort participants should expect to spend 2-4 hours per week in a flexible, online weekly format.

Student employees are also encouraged to enroll, as OIT is seeing an increase of students tasked with creating content for university websites who are unaware of the Boise State’s web accessibility policy requirements.

University web accessibility analyst Carolyn Quintero can guide individuals through all the requirements of the badge course and is available to answer questions as participants demonstrate mastery of web accessibility concepts.

Cohort advantages include:

  1. Weekly reminders and suggestions for completing requirements
  2. Priority workshop registration
  3. One-on-one assistance
