Giacumo editor of AECT special edition on Social Change through Learning Design

(OPWL) faculty member Lisa Giacumo was selected as editor of a special issue of the Association for Educational Communications and Technology’s (AECT) Journal for Applied Instructional Design (JAID). The December 2021 special issue focuses on attending to issues of social change through learning design. As editor, Giacumo co-authored the journal’s preface as well as co-authored the article Promoting Organizational Justice in Cross-Cultural Data Collection, Analysis, and Interpretation: Towards as Emerging Conceptual Model with OPWL student Madeleine MacDonald and OPWL graduate D’Jeane Peters.

The purpose of the peer-reviewed open-access JAID is to bridge the gap between theory and practice by providing reflective practitioners a means for publishing articles related to the field. The articles are based on design and development projects as opposed to pure research projects and focus on lessons learned and how to improve the instructional design process. Rigor is established through articles grounded in research and theory.
