Dr. R. Eric Landrum awarded the prestigious title of Distinguished Professor

The Department of Psychological Science is thrilled to announce that Dr. R. Eric Landrum has been awarded the prestigious title of Distinguished Professor. Since joining Boise State University in 1992, Dr. Landrum has contributed to the department, college, and university in numerous ways. His work has often focused on student outcomes, and he has received multiple national awards for his outstanding contributions to the field. 

In 2019, he was honored with the Charles L. Brewer Distinguished Teaching of Psychology Award, and has achieved Fellow status in both the American Psychological Association’s Society for the Teaching of Psychology and the Association for Psychological Science.

Dr. Landrum has served as former Department Chair, President of Psi Chi, an international honors society in psychology, and President of Rocky Mountain Psychological Association. In his role as President of Psi Chi, he worked tirelessly to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health care and needs. Additionally, he co-founded the PsychSessions podcast network, offering invaluable insights into psychology and education.

Dr. Landrum has authored numerous books, chapters, and publications while mentoring students in research and writing. He also worked hard to secure significant grants, including a $2,000,000 WIDER-PERSIST grant from the National Science Foundation.
