Do not wash your genitals thoroughly before urinating. Do not urinate for at least 2 hours prior to use. It is preferable to collect your first urine in the morning and return the sample the same day (Monday to Friday only). The materials in this testing kit are for single use only. The liquid preservative should remain inside the collection tube.
Step 1:
Unscrew the urine cup cap and collect the first urine that comes out (only a vey small amount is needed).
Step 2:
Use the dropper to add urine to the black line on the sample tube being careful not to spill preservative (clear liquid) in tube.
Step 3:
Close the tube tightly with cap. Write name and date of birth on the sample tube label and place it on the tube.
Step 4:
Dispose of the urine cup and put the sample tube containing urine in the resealable area of the biohazard bag (with the absorbent pad). Include your completed documents in the back of the biohazard bag.
Step 5:
Return the sample to the drop box located in the Campus School Building which is open from 8-5. The building is located on the corner of S Brady St and W University Dr. This Building can be accessed with a BSU I.D. card after hours on the NW side of the building on S Brady St. We also have another drop box outside of Science Building Room 239.
