Outdoor Program Community Standards and Expectations

Community Standards and Expectations

Here are a few things to keep in mind before participating in any of the Outdoor Programing

What should I do before coming to the Climbing Gym?

  • If you are not feeling well or are experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19, such as cough, shortness of breath, or fever, please stay home. We encourage all participants to take a short COVID-19 symptom self-checker prior to coming to the Climbing Gym.
  • Bring your Boise State ID card and a personal water bottle.
  • If you have your own climbing equipment (harness, belay device, climbing shoes, and chalk) we encourage you to use it. We will have those items for rent but in low quantity.
  • Please do not share chalk, belay devices, or any other equipment in the climbing gym.
  • Wear your face covering. We will be wearing one, and we ask you to do the same.
  • Open communication with staff and participants has always important in the Climbing Gym. We will remind participants to not touch their faces, wash hands when practical, and keep a 6ft distance from others.
  • Follow all posted signs and climb in the designated areas.

What should I do before a trip?

  • Be open, flexible, caring, and supportive. There is a wide range of comfort zones in the world of COVID-19, make sure you are expressing your own needs and listening to others.
  • If you are not feeling well or are experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19, such as cough, shortness of breath, or fever OR been in contact with someone who has had symptoms, please stay home.
  • Bring your personal water bottle and any food. Please do not share food or water while on the trip.
  • Wear your face covering when 6ft of distance cannot be maintained. This goes for everyone on the trip.
  • We will remind participants to not touch their faces, wash hands when practical, and keep a 6ft distance from others.
