[Panel Event] What Does it Take to be a Sustainable Campus?

January 18, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm MST

Free

Colleges and universities are almost like small cities, providing housing, food, space, and more for their students and staff. Campuses can serve as living labs to test out sustainability strategies and practices and be nimble as new opportunities present themselves. However, there are challenges to implementing new strategies that would make the university more sustainable. This panel will explore those challenges and ask questions such as: How do universities define sustainability? How do colleges implement sustainable governance? What is STARS reporting? All these questions and more will be explored by our expert panel that includes:

Panelists:

  • Suzy Arnette: Boise State Environmental Health, Safety, and Sustainability Director
  • Amy Parrish: Boise State Sustainability Director
  • Sarah Dawson: University of Idaho Sustainability Director
  • Paul Edlund: Montana State University Program Manager of the Office of Sustainability
