Pollution Prevention Grant Program
Summary:
EPA is announcing a grant competition to fund two-year Pollution Prevention assistance agreements for projects that provide technical assistance (e.g., information, training, tools) to businesses and their facilities to help them develop and adopt source reduction practices (also known as “pollution prevention” or “P2”). P2 means reducing or eliminating pollutants from entering any waste stream or otherwise being released into the environment prior to recycling, treatment, or disposal. In keeping with the Pollution Prevention Act of 1990, EPA is encouraging P2 because implementing these practices can result in reductions in toxic pollutants, the use of water, energy and other raw materials, while also lowering business costs. States, state entities, federally-recognized tribes and intertribal consortia are eligible to apply.
Award Amount:
Individual grant awards may potentially be in the range of $40,000 – $500,000 for the two-year funding period.

US Future Leaders Topical Seminar
Summary:
The Institute of International Education (IIE) and the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs are soliciting proposals from institutions to host a two-day U.S. Future Leaders Topical Seminar for alumni of the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program. The U.S. Future Leaders Topical Seminars are intended to better position Gilman alumni as future American leaders across public and private sectors, empower students from underrepresented groups to pursue careers in fields of utmost national importance, and support knowledge that contributes to U.S. economic prosperity and national security.
Each seminar will focus on a different topic (see below) and integrate a leadership subtheme.
- Cyber Issues (Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Technology)
- Rural Economic Development and Agriculture
- Public Health
- Energy and Natural Resources
- Entrepreneurship and Innovation
- Infrastructure (Engineering, Urban Planning)
- Closing the Skills Gap (Business, Education, High-Tech Sectors, Human Resources, Management, Manufacturing)
Award Amount:
A total of three U.S. Future Leaders Topical Seminars will be offered for Gilman alumni in 2020. IIE anticipates selecting three institutions across different geographic locations to host a seminar with a maximum budget of $60,000/seminar to cover costs outlined in RFP.
