Colleagues:
In order to obtain permission from the state for any summer hire, and/or grant-funded faculty summer salary, we must submit a request to the state DHR. If you are intending to make hires on appropriated funds that will also be required. Please submit your request to Human Resources, as soon as possible, using the normal procedures, forms and processes. HR will coordinate the review and approval process with the state, and will notify you promptly when a decision has been made.
It is critical that you differentiate between the funding sources. Obviously federal grant dollars do not cost, but rather contribute to the state, so hopefully they will be approved quickly. Human Resources is building a spreadsheet that will allow us to group the hires for the request. Please complete your submission by April 30.
Please share this information with your faculty as soon as possible.
