Limited Submission Notice: National Science Foundation, Partnerships for Innovation (PFI), Research Partnerships Track

Sponsor:

National Science Foundation (NSF)

Summary:

The Partnerships for Innovation (PFI) programs supports researchers and innovators in accelerating the development of breakthrough technologies by providing a technology testbed to gain market insights, launch a commercial application or facilitate industry adoption. The program helps researchers translate basic research into technologies. During the program, researchers will experience one or more of the following intended outcomes: develop groundbreaking technologies, license NSF-funded intellectual property, engage in industry partnerships, gain innovation and entrepreneurial skills.

There are two tracks in the program: (1) Research Partnerships (RP) and (2) Technology Translation (TT). The RP track is a limited submission opportunity and requires an industry partnership. The TT track is not a limited submission opportunity and does not require an industry partner. For both tracks, the Principal Investigator or a Co-Principal Investigator must have current or prior NSF funding in the past seven years for the project.

Proposals are accepted three times a year (May, September, and January).

For more information, view the full NSF Partnerships for Innovation (PFI) (NSF 23-538) solicitation.
