Boise State University and Idaho Osteopathic Medicine Summer 2023 Funding Opportunity
Boise State University and Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine (ICOM) are excited to announce another year of a collaborative summer research internship program that will provide funding for research supplies with a rising 2nd year osteopathic medical student. ICOM medical students will participate in a new or ongoing mentored research project with Boise State faculty and will gain valuable experiences through hands-on training that can be applied to their medical education and real-world challenges. Selected labs/projects will be paired with ICOM students interested in research. Many ICOM students already have graduate degrees and previous research experience, and you can expect them to be bright, ambitious, and hard-working. Boise State faculty can request ICOM students based on their qualifications and background.
Award Information:
- Award Amount: $1,500 for equipment, materials, and supplies
- Award Duration: Flexible start/end dates. 8 weeks, part-time OR 5 weeks, full-time. Preferred full-time window is early June to mid-late July

- Application: A brief description of an available internship opportunity that describes the relevance of the proposed project, mentoring and skills that can be acquired by the ICOM student during the project, and the need for funding.

Center for Advanced Energy Studies Collaboration Program Now Accepting Applications
The Center for Advanced Energy Studies (CAES) is accepting applications for CAES Collaboration Program Development Funds through February 28, 2023. This program is designed to help establish collaborative research, innovation and educational relationships between researchers at the CAES universities (Boise State University, Idaho State University and University of Idaho) and their counterparts at Idaho National Laboratory. The intention is for the collaborations to develop direct-funded proposals with CAES entities. Successful applicants will demonstrate how their proposal would enhance collaborative relationships among the CAES entities, with priority given to projects focusing on INL mission areas and CAES focus areas:
- Advanced Manufacturing
- Energy Storage and Transfer
- Critical Materials and Geothermal
Award Information:
Average Award: $20K-40K
Award Duration: April 1, 2023 to September 30, 2023

Application Deadline: February 28, 2023 at 5pm MT
The application needs to be completed in collaboration with an INL employee. CAES Collaboration Funds will be awarded to proposals based on an internal CAES review for strategic alignment and best return on investment.
